The Bengt Asker Award for The Best Real-Time Master Thesis 2009

Each year, SNART gives the Bengt Asker Award to the best Master or Final Year Thesis in the field of real-time and embedded systems. This year's award will be given to a thesis completed during the time interval April 30, 2008 to April 30, 2009 at a Swedish university.

The prize money this year is at least 5,000 SEK, thanks to generous support from Volvo.

Candidates should submit an abstract, contact details (including current address, e-mail, and telephone number), and a PDF file of the thesis.

The DEADLINE for the submission is MAY 10, 2009. The material should be sent electronically to Ingo Sander (ingo -at- kth.se), who coordinates this year's competition.

The SNART board will evaluate the submissions and select the winner. The winner is expected to give a short presentation of the thesis at the conference 'Real-Time in Sweden' in Lund, August 19-20 (SNART covers travel expenses and the registration fee for the conference.)

On behalf of the SNART board,

Ingo Sander

From 1997 a prize for the Best Master or Final Year Thesis is awarded at the conference/seminar. In 2005 the prize changed name to "The Bengt Asker Award for The Best Real-Time Master Thesis" to honour a pioneer in the computer field and a good friend.
