SNART Awards
Each year, SNART gives the The Bengt Asker Award to the best Master or Final Year Thesis in the field of real-time and embedded systems. This
year's award will be given to a thesis completed during the time
interval April 30, 2007 to April 30, 2008 at a Swedish university.
The prize money this year has been increased up to 20 000 Swedish kronor,
thanks to generous support from ABB, Volvo, and Ericsson (not yet confirmed).
Candidates should submit an abstract, contact details (including current
address, e-mail, and telephone number), and a PDF file of the thesis.
The DEADLINE for the submission is April 30, 2008. The material should
be sent electronically to Mats Brorsson (matsbror -at- kth.se), who
coordinates this year's competition.
The SNART board will evaluate the submissions and select the winner. The
winner is expected to give a presentation of the thesis at the SNART seminar at KTH in August 2008. (SNART covers
travel expenses and the registration fee for the seminar.)
From 1997 a prize for the Best Master or Final Year Thesis is awarded at the conference/seminar. In 2005 the prize changed name to "The Bengt Asker Award for The Best Real-Time Master Thesis" to honour a pioneer in the computer field and a good friend.
